Where to begin...the salesman was friendly during our in home consultation. It seems a little sketchy, but he actually brings a binder with him of quotes for the same jobs from other window companies in the area. I can't tell you the difference between one window and another, but I'm sure it's not apples to apples. Regardless the price seemed reasonable. We were assured that the installation would be complete within a month, so we went with them. BIG MISTAKE-HUGE!

We got a call a couple of days before our install date (which had been scheduled 2-3 weeks) saying they booked us on the rain date for another job. Then they said that is was a double booking, then they said the other job required more time and we needed to get pushed to the end of the week. I asked if I could schedule a rain date since we were never offered the opportunity to do this. The manager told me that everybody was flat out lying to us and it had been overbooked for weeks because HE scheduled us when he has nothing to do with scheduling. Everybody kept saying that "it's just a couple of days" and the salesman promised everybody at HomeRite that the installers could be alone in our house. I made it clear that under no circumstance is this okay and we have a security system for a reason. They acted like they were doing us a huge favor by keeping the install dates we scheduled weeks ago. They said they were only trying to reschedule us because the other customer wasn't returning their calls.

During install I came by to check on how things were going. Progress looked fine and one of the guys pretty much begged to use the bathroom. I am pretty sure they take a lunch break and I am not making any exaggeration when I say that one tenth of a mile away there is a local business with available bathrooms. The next morning I asked if they needed me to be around or to come open the house for the bathroom at any time. They said they would be fine. That day the same guy tripped our security system entering our house to "use the bathroom" when I was not home. I got calls from the police saying they were responding to a call at my home and that they needed to know we were safe. I had to drop everything at work and rush home to figure out the issue. I was LIVID that somebody was alone in my home, without my permission. The owner's response: Did you tell them explicitly that they were not to be alone in your home? EXCUSE ME?! I will never deal with these idiots again. What a JOKE of a business. No concept of customer service and trying to blame us for their people busting into our house and getting the police called? Even the owner said that he admitted there were a lot of hiccups and he didn't think he would use his own company. All I could think of was to demand a discount to compensate for the grief and time I had to take off from work for these idiots-a whopping 5%. By the way-I'm pregnant. If my baby comes out a mess it's because of the stress from HomeRite.
